Little Rice Fire Department Hosts “Fired Up for Safety: Family Awareness Day” Events in October
Little Rice, WI – September 27, 2024 – In recognition of Fire Prevention Month, the Little Rice 
Fire Department, serving the townships of Lynne and Little Rice, is excited to invite community 
members to two “Fired Up for Safety: Family Awareness Day” events. These events will take place on 
Saturday, October 12, in Lynne(Pier/Willow area) and Saturday, October 19, in Little Rice from 
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Both events aim to promote fire safety awareness and offer families an opportunity to learn more 
about the services provided by the fire department, including fire and emergency medical services. 
The events will feature hands-on activities for all ages, and the possibility of a Life Link 
medical helicopter landing at 10:30 AM at both locations.
Event Details:
•   Lynne Event: Saturday, October 12, 2024
•    Location: Outside the former Willow Region Fire House, 5086 Willow Road
•   Little Rice Event: Saturday, October 19, 2024
•    Location: Little Rice Fire Station, 3737 Highway Y
•   Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Activities Include:
•   Fire Safety Training: Learn how to properly use a fire extinguisher with hands-on demonstrations 
and
practice using a fire extinguisher on a controlled fire.
• Special Rescue equipment display: See the fire department’s specialized rescue units, including 
our boat, off road vehicle and ice rescue equipment.
•    Fire equipment display: Explore fire trucks and equipment and take photos with the crew.
• EMS Training: Practice step-by-step CPR on practice mannequins, Learn how to administer Narcan 
and Heimlich maneuver. Get a free blood pressure reading.
•    Family-Friendly Fun: Cookies, coffee, and water will be provided by the fire department’s 
canteen and
rehab unit.
•   Life Link Medical Helicopter (Pending): A potential helicopter landing at 10:30 AM, offering 
attendees a
close-up look at emergency air-medical transportation.
The “Fired Up for Safety” events are open to community members of all ages, and we encourage 
families, children, adults, and seniors to participate in this educational day. Applications for 
various volunteer roles within the fire department and EMS services will be available on-site.
